NANCY DETERT ANNOUNCES HER BID FOR SENATE SEAT DISTRICT 23 - For Immediate Release: 05/22/2007
Venice, Fl. – Nancy Detert, Republican candidate for Senate District 23, will formally announce her candidacy on Thursday, May 24th at the Caldwell Trust Building in Venice at 5PM.
Detert, having previously been elected to and having served for 8 years on the school board of Sarasota County and then elected and re elected to four terms to the Florida House of Representatives, still believes that education is and continues to be one of the important issues facing the people of this senate district. Detert feels that Education, Economic Development and Property Tax Reform are the main issues facing the constituents in her district and the State.
Thursday the 24th she will officially launch her Senate bid for the district that encompasses parts of Charlotte, Manatee, and Sarasota counties.
Detert, having served our community for 4 terms as a Member of the Florida House of Representatives, will bring to the Senate the same attitude she brought to the House as our representative for the 8 years she served this community. She is one that listens to the people she represents and who has proven to be an effective communicator and negotiator on our behalf.
Detert can lay claim and is uniquely qualified to serve due to a tremendous amount of political training, knowledge, and previously successful commitment and experience that will enable her to immediately be effective in the Florida Senate for the citizens of Charlotte, Manatee and Sarasota.
